The latest move is the shoe line from TEN & Co. that takes the vintage carpet and puts it, quite literally, on your feet.

How can we not mention, what many in the fashion world call the greatest red carpet event ever? After all, we are in the carpet business aren’t we? The Met Gala of 2012, considered the fashion world’s biggest event of the year, took place in May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Editor-in-Chief of U.S. Vogue, Anna Wintour, hosted the annual ball, where celebrities and fashion designers came together in a night that some call the Oscar’s of the east coast.

Fashion has had a recent trend of repeating itself in the latter half of the century and especially into the 2000’s. We saw the return of 70’s gear full of peasant tops, maxi dresses, jumpsuits, and flared jeans. Also, the return of the disco era came back full force with sequins galore and enough gold lamé to revive Studio 54 back from its grave.

As Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week 2012 comes to a close today, designers and “fashionistas” have spent all week strutting their stuff for the iconic moment in the fashion world and New York alike. One of my favorite designers, Marc Jacobs served up some seriously stunning “stylings” this year in his Marc By Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 collection showcasing a mixture of grunge and military-inspired looks.
