Vintage Mazandaran Kilim, Origin: Persia, Circa Mid 20th Century — True to so many other kilims and runners, this carpet creates an abstract yet grounding scene that uses simple colors and shapes to convey the desired feeling. Three distinct bars each feature cascading rows of horizontal stripes, set beside each other in different central colors. Tangerine, ivory, coffee, khaki, ruby and violet hues all stand against each other in their unique formation throughout the piece. The colors do not seem to follow a particular pattern, and the asymmetry presented through these hues only serves to give the kilim even more personality and presence.
